** Great Cornbread
3/4 cup of yellow corn meal
1/4 cup of flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 slightly beaten egg
3/4 cup buttermilk to which 1/4 tsp. baking powder has been added (or
3/4 cup of sweet milk)
Mix these together and pour into heated large iron skillet which 2 TBSP. oil or shortening has been added
Cook 25 minutes at 425 degrees |
