Black Bean Soup

1 pound dried black beans
6 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
2 small pieces of ham
1/4 pd salt pork
1 cup chopped onion
1 Bay leaf
1/2 chopped green pepper
1 large tomato, peeled and chopped
1 clove garlic minced (or garlic powder)
6 Serrano Peppers (SEEDED) and chopped (or jalapeno peppers)
1 - 6 oz can tomato paste
1/3 tsp pepper
2 TBSP Worchestershire
1/4 tsp Tobasco

Cover beans with water and soak 8 hours. Drain well - add chicken broth, 2 cups water, ham and salt pork and bay leaf. Bring to a boil. Cover - reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Remove salt pork - Add ham pieces. Add onion and remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 2 hours. Remove bay leaf. Partially mash beans with a potato masher (you don't have to do this). Serve with chopped green onions and dollops of sour cream
